Bad hair day? Things of the past? I think so!

Sleeping in and missing your alarm may never be a problem again if you can perfect this Springs new trend. Messy hair is in! Greasy roots? never worry, just make sure you get the pony tail part right and your laughing your way to work in style! Follow this link for all the images Spring 2012 Hair Trends– Best Hair Trends for Spring 2012 - Harper's BAZAAR
Here are some of my personal favourites -

Sleek back roots at the Giambattista Valli Show

Sleek back roots and tied in a small half pony tail at the
Felder Felder Show

Helmut Lang Show sported the wet look no fuss messy bun ponytail

They kept it slightly cleaner at the Reed Krakoff Show and used leather to tie the pony tail

no time to shampoo hair? use dry shampoo instead. spray on roots and brush through and your good to go :)

Loving the 3 tier pony tail for the Herve Leger Show.
Again dry shampoo and like here, I would recommend buying hair bobbles that match your own hair colour.

Loving the pulled half way pony tails that Missoni created for their show :)

Like BCBG you can add mouse to the roots and go grunge.

To me this look created for the Michael Kors Show rocks.
Just tie your hair in knots and plaits and secure with bobby pins or small elastics. GENIUS

The sleek pony tail was rocked at the Donna Karan Show

I hope you like these looks to help you out on the mornings when you just cant manage to get out of bed on time for a proper blow dry. ENJOY practising :)

I am LOVING - Harper's BAZAAR Beauty Tips

Being a hairstylist I always have to keep an eye on new trends and keep my work fresh. If you click on this link it has great ideas for hair and make-up. I cannot wait to try them out. Some of the styles I have already tried and have loved re-creating. Colouring hair has been great this year so far, the dip dye effect is brilliant and depending on the customer you can be as subtle as you like or as outrageous as they like.

This messy pony tail rocks!!!
So simple to do also.
Just make sure your hair is prepped properly and
your good to go. I recommend a good mousse and
always have a nozzle on your hair drier as this helps
control the air flow and keep your hair in check.
A good backcombing brush or comb and no break
hair bobbles and kirby grips.

If you do not own a pair of tongs or cloud nines
you could prep hair as above and then dry the hair
80% dry and take sections about 3fingers wide and
wrap it around your fingers to make hair circles. Get
clips and secure flat to your head. Do that all over
head and then just wait until fully dry and then when
you remove the clips loosely ruffle and fix each curl to
where you want it.

I would do as above to curl or I would use the tongs and then at the bottom of the curls I would take a small piece of the curl between my thumb and fore finger and push it up into the hair and pin. I am going to try this one out in the salon.
LOVE this look. Last year I did my own version of this for my friends new head piece collection. I'll put a picture of it below.
This to me is just beautiful. Again I have tried and tested this look on my friends and clients. One of my clients got married in October and had her own version of this done as her hair was bob length. I'll attach a photo below.

Here are some photos of the hair I have re-created from using the above as my inspiration.

I just love HAIR!!

Just a little bit of fun to brighten up such a dreary January evening!

I personally don't have long enough hair yet to do this but once I do, I'll be following these quick and easy steps to the perfect DIY top bun.
Company's Guide to the Perfect Top Knot :: Company.co.uk

I did a shoot last year with Joe Mcgivern for Argento Jewellery and we did a messy version of this top bun.
Its a quick and effective way of making the hair look good and I think it suits all hair types provided that you have the length there in the first place to achieve it.

Love Ever After - Weddings 2011

I was not only lucky enough to style the hair of some of my closest friends and clients for their weddings last year but I also got to get my own hair styled for my own wedding in November, (Ruairi I work with did my hair and I loved it). Phil and Cathy even got their wedding published in the Wedding Journal (included pics). It was a great year for making brides beautiful. I just love the whole process from start to finish. Sitting down with brides and discussing the dress, the theme and starting to put together ideas for the hair. I always like to try to get the hair to not only compliment the dress but to make the bride feel as comfortable as possible and of course stay in all day and night, even into the wee hours of the morning. Got to still look as good when your going to bed as it did when you first stepped into your dress :) I have put up some pictures of my beautiful brides and bridesmaids from 2011 and of course I popped a wee pic of myself with my hubby to show my own hair on my big day (Im the tattooed bride)

I am looking forward to making all my 2012 brides hair just as beautiful if not more. Always got to keep on the look out for new ideas for keeping wedding hair up to date and fresh :) xo
